On a step ladder with no one supporting it...

The shop fronts...

We have all had those moments... daydreaming about the 'one day I will have my own business..' thoughts. Visiting cute shops, cafes, the kind of places that make us feel, yes I want this...

That moment for me was whilst visiting Grace and Favour, Northcross road, Dulwich in 1996. I sat down with my good friend, Sarah, to eat lunch whilst we were working in the pharmaceutical business. I was served the most incredible, but simple fresh salad of sprouting beans, yes I even remember what I ate! and thought I could do this....

The shop served fresh foods, home made cakes and sold beautiful, bespoke gifts.

Having grown up on home made, in both foods and clothes, I didn't think what if... I thought why not...

I took my beloved mother to see the shop and told her that this is what I was going to work towards, she smiled and filed it under 'my daughters hair brained schemes folder' she knew I had always had the entrepreneur gene but was so used to all my crazy ideas she knew that to discourage would fall on deaf ears...

And so it was that the idea of Oh my... was born, a place where food was fresh, gifts local and a shop which housed ranges of delicious, small batch chutneys, jams and foodie items .

I officially started the business in 2012, with four young children and a folder full of ideas, yes I was wobbling at the top of the step ladder but I knew that it was the start of Oh my...coffee and other nice things...
